Demonstration: Vegetable Container Gardening @ 1:00 p.m.
Presented by: Leslie Shimer, Assistant Garden Center Manager at Marvin’s Organic Gardens

If you don’t have much space or time for a large vegetable garden, grow one right outside your door! You might be surprised at the food you can grow in a container. Leslie Shimer will demonstrate the how's and why’s of growing vegetable plants on your deck or patio. We will raffle off a patio vegetable garden at the end of the demonstration. This class is free and open to the public. No registration required.

Living Green, Living Well: Tips & Tools for Creating a Healthy Home @ 3:00 p.m.
Presented by Ellen Hall, eco-consultant, Green Irene

In tight economic times, saving energy and water makes a lot of sense. Being a little more “eco-conscious”, we can lead healthier, safer and more sustainable lifestyle while saving money by reducing energy use. At this special thinkGREEN event, Green Irene eco-consultant Ellen Hall will show you how a few lifestyle changes will help you create a healthy home and contribute to a healthy planet. Hall will review actionable ways to save money reduce energy use, improve indoor air quality, remove toxins from your home, conserve water and reduce waste. By becoming knowledgeable about the best tools and the best practices, you will learn ways to improve health and enhance the quality of life for you, your family and your pets, while benefiting the Earth, too. By living green, you will be living well!

About the Presenter: Ellen Hall is an eco-consultant for Green Irene, a national network of direct sales professionals who are intent on providing actionable ways for individuals, families and small businesses to improve health and quality of life by decreasing energy use, minimizing waste, reducing toxins, and improving air & water quality in the home or office. Ellen, who lives in Lebanon, Ohio, is also director of communications for The Green Standard, not for profit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable production and consumption, using life-cycle based resources. Here, she develops marketing communications and educational programs to help purchasers and manufacturers understand the importance of using scientifically-based, third-party verified information when evaluating environmental performance.
